New Work July 10, 2009

Here’s some new stuff I’ve been working on, some is still in progress some is finished:

This is the artwork for a brochure just completed for The Infusion Project. They are doing a bunch of Comic- Con afterparties, so we had to do a whole brochure just to cram in all of the info. I did an illustration for it since I don’t really have any presence at the Con this year, so at least some work of mine will be on 30,000 brochures all over the city next week.

A new design for the underground Refuge project and refuge Recordings–coming soon.

I did the flyer, tickets and created a quick website for the Magical Sunshine Festival. I’ll be djing there as well. This is a big San Diego event that is showcasing a lot of SD djs. Very cool.

Simple vector drawing for a new client

Another vector drawing for a series of t-shirts that may or may not happen. I just do the work, can’t make these people actually do something with it.

Dragon Lounge 11 Years Strong

Since I’ve been a DJ for many years I do a lot of design and printing for clubs and other DJs. I recently finished a flyer and poster series for The Dragon Lounge. The front is for an upcoming show and the back lists all of the performers that have appeared for 11 years.

More Updated Work June 2009

Here are some more samples of recent work. Don’t forget to check out the portfolios page to see more.

I just finished a website. The agency provided the layout and graphics. I was involved in coding (xhtml and css) and the production of all images for the web. I also designed the header (based on direction from the agency) and created a custom Wordpress child theme (based on the Thematic system) for the site’s blog.

In my portfolio you will see several package design projects for Istik. I found some photos of the actual product so this is a layout I created to show the design and photos of the actual product.

I finished some product illustrations for the Epiphany Marketing agency a few months back. They asked me to create concept sketches based on the product that show the development of the client’s product. They used them in imagery for the brochure and website.

New Work June 2009

Here is some new stuff I’ve been working on recently.

More photos from the wonderful FeeLit store showing a sandwich board and window signage that I designed for them; of course Immedia Solutions did the printing and installation.

A brochure for an amazing house in Mexico City.

A logo for a new San Diego art and promotion company. I’ve done a lot of work for them so we’ll have a complete case study up soon.

A simulated Ipod Nano 4th Gen created in Photoshop for the Istik packaging in the portfolio.

A logo for my dj/audio alter ego.

Latin Love is a new party in San Diego. This is the logo.

A poster for an upcoming event.

A recent invite for a Palomar College nursing school graduation.

We made a cheap ticket for the event, printed on a business card. Who needs die-cut when you can just come up with an affordable alternative.

A color sketch for a new project I’ve been working on with an agency.

Another concept for the same project. I can’t tell you much more but I’ll post everything once all of the designs are finished.

A logo for a Los Angeles mover and shaker.

The logo for a unique comedy event in San Diego. I also did an illustration, you will be able to see it in the illustration portfolio–coming soon!

An Earth Day promotion in Los Angeles. The event even got some press in the LA Times.

A CD cover for a Los Angeles DJ. I’ve done a ton of work for him over the last six months. I’ll be posting a full case study soon.

New Creative Services for San Diego Art, Music Fashion Retailer FeeLit

San Diego DJ and all around nice guy Markalan opened a store just about a year ago. The amazing thing is that he did it with very little money and inventory, and a whole lot of hustle! Now it’s been just about a year and many in SD have felt what he intended. Just as his statement, tag line or mantra states–Uniting People Through Music, Art and Fashion– FeeLit has become a small hub for the arts, as well as a nice spot to pick up some truly unique wares.

JWE was involved from the beginning helping Mark come up with a logo, promotional collateral and a focus on what could make this little store different. From those early brainstorm sessions the term Creative Retail was born and the primary focus of the Feelit experience was on its way. Mark began using his sharp networking skills to get product in the store and JWE got busy with the logo design and the illustration that would become the mural inside the store.

Local large-format master Scott of Immedia Solutions printed and installed the mural and soon after the store began to host local artists and their works on its walls. It proved to be a great idea and now FeeLit is well known in San Diego and it’s growing every day.
